Writer Adam Scorgie does a fantastic job showing us how marijuana has become a multi-billion dollar business in North America. This movie covers most aspects of the cannabis plant: medical use, the many benefits of hemp, illegal trade, prohibition, and the amount of money that has been spent to combat it all. The Union is informative and eye opening and uses great interviews and surprising statistics to shed some light on this controversial subject. We see interviews with people from all areas of the cannabis culture: Tommy Chong, Joe Rogan, Marc Emery, Ed Rosenthal, publishers, doctors, and even several growers. The fact that The Union covers almost every aspect of cannabis makes this documentary, overall, one of the most informative.
