It’s not clear whether the band name is a joke or mistake but what is clear is the album is absolutely charming. She, (Zooey Deschanel) and Him, (Matt Ward) both have their own successful careers. She narrates the 11 songs on the album and each song strikes a different emotion from “Sentimental Heart” where she is a train wreck, crying on the floor and lonely to “Take it back” where she refuses to be loved. Matt Ward has been rising up in the indie scene for quite some time, In many parts of the album his voice is more of a compliment than a duo, but it works. Where the disappointment comes is the canny writing and her voice is too natural, yet she has built a solid foundation in the indie realm.
