Album: Valleys of Neptune
Artist: Jimi Hendrix
Release Date: 3/9/10
Genre: Rock
Yes, it is yet another Hendrix compilation album, but who doesn’t deserve some new recordings of some REAL music? Valley of Neptune is packed with unreleased versions of his bests like “Stone’s Throw” and “Red House” and mixes in unreleased tracks like “Crying Blue Rain” and “Lullaby for the Summer.” Jimi’s soulful sound is gritty and smoky but this engineered masterpiece makes these old recordings sound very crisp. This album is sure to please the fans that have been rocking out to Jimi for what seems like a lifetime. Valley of Neptune will pick up new fans as well because it’s easy to see why even 40 years after his death Jimi Hendrix still rocks.
